...can we take a moment to talk about this Type-R engine and how awesome would it be in a CR-Z?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Or Integra, if you will.

I think the CR-Z is a great looking car. I’d love the Type-R engine in it.
I’d even settle for that engine in the Fit. That is the car that Honda should be building, even if you were to detune it a bit.

“to U.S. grassroots and professional racers for verified, closed-course racing applications,” which means these turbocharged beasts are not intended for the street.
Womp womp.

That radiator layout tells me it’s primarily transversal though. But I guess it would work.

Thats an amazing price for that engine. The GM LTG turbo 4 is quiet a bit more money for less motor.

“I’m doing bracket races at my local drag strip.”
Race there at least once.
REQUIREMENTS DONE!

Well at least there would be some professionals working on it, then the knowledge could trickle down and be used on totaled Type-R’s engines...

I’ve driven it, it actually handles well too. Except in that case, the hybrid powertrain and the CVT was a huge letdown.

If it’s anything like Mazda, all it takes is an $80 SCCA license and a autocross-or-two to count as a racer.

Agreed. The Hellcat is a one trick pony for drag strips. It’s too powerful to be fun in the twisties and won’t physical fit in most non-yanktank engine bays anyway. A 300 hp more compact engine though, it’ll be much easier to fit and you can actually wring it out without instantly killing yourself.

Can this be turned 90 degrees and dropped into his Sprite?

intercooler, not radiator?
people have done K-swaps into S2000s (there’s even pre-fabbed engine mounts and other parts now) but the K20C1 is probably different enough that all new parts will be needed.

Didn’t mugen already make a crz on steroids?
Googled it;

Only 197 bhp.

“made”
I still attribute to the car’s death due to lack of power.

I’ve always liked the look of them, if I ever need a daily a crz will be on my list.
But I have seen a mugen crz for sale, it was around the 20k mark, I think they were Japanese market only.
